Job summary

Jobgether and its partner are seeking an Underpayment Analyst to remotely analyze hospital claims, identify payment discrepancies, and drive accurate reimbursements across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers. You will liaise with carriers and internal teams, document findings, and contribute to continuous process improvements within a structured 90-business-day training program.

You will operate in a detail-oriented, analytical capacity, using Epic/Cerner/Meditech and Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial policies.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, CMS regulations, and state requirements.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner or Meditech is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze hospital claims to identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursements.
• Investigate underpayments and variances by examining coding and billing inconsistencies.
• Contact insurance carriers to obtain missing information and clarify payment decisions.
• Prepare documentation to support reimbursement recovery (letters, emails, appeals, reports).
• Maintain records of investigations, outcomes, and trends for audits and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and carriers to resolve complex reimbursement issues.
• Participate in team discussions to improve workflows and recovery strategies.
• Uphold HIPAA and applicable healthcare regulations in all activities.
• Perform additional duties to support revenue integrity operations.
