Job summary

lumesp, a growing ABA therapy organization, seeks a Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury, and internal controls across multiple entities.

The role leads monthly close, ensures accurate financial records, and collaborates with billing, revenue cycle, payroll, and operations teams. Remote initially with a path to hybrid in New York or New Jersey; compensation starts at $175,000+ based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Significant experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Director, or similar accounting leader.
• Healthcare accounting experience is required.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting, financial reporting, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Experience with healthcare revenue cycle accounting, insurance payments, contractual adjustments, recoupments, or patient balances.
• Experience managing accounting for multiple entities.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with detailed financial data.
• Ability to manage staff and work effectively with senior leadership and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll, treasury, and reconciliations.
• Manage healthcare revenue accounting and patient balance adjustments.
• Reconcile billing and operational systems to QuickBooks.
• Oversee intercompany accounting across multiple entities.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash reporting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies and internal controls.
• Coordinate tax filings and payroll tax notices with outside advisors.
• Develop accounting staff and partner with billing and revenue teams.
• Support leadership with financial analysis and operational reporting.
