Job summary

SCAN Health Plan is seeking a data science and analytics expert to join the Medical Economics Analytics team. You will apply advanced analytics and GenAI-enabled methods to identify total cost of care savings across UM, medical policy, payment integrity, network contracting, and COB levers.

The role requires healthcare data experience, strong data science skills, and the ability to communicate findings to Finance, Network, and Clinical partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
• Graduate or advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
• 3+ years applying data science and analytical methods to quantify cost opportunities.
• 1+ years of SQL in relational databases; 2+ years Python and/or R.
• Experience with Snowflake/Databricks and Power BI; Streamlit preferred.
• Familiarity with GenAI/LLM tools and health plan data domains.

Responsibilities

• Apply data science methods to claims, clinical, and contract data to identify TCOC savings opportunities.
• Prioritize opportunities across core medical cost levers based on impact and feasibility.
• Create requirements, test analyses, and validate savings sizing with stakeholders.
• Support analytics strategy and mentor other practitioners on projects.
