Job summary

SSM Health Continuum of Care/Health Information Management in Madison is seeking staff for the Release of Information/Additional Documents Required team. The role involves reviewing electronic health records for completeness and regulatory compliance, with a schedule of 4 days remote and 1 day in-office to support Back Office staff.

You will analyze medical records, identify deficiencies, and manage follow-ups to ensure timely coding and safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• Two years' experience in medical records or related field.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes medical records for content to ensure compliance with entity and regulatory standards.
• Reviews medical records and identifies documentation deficiencies according to established medical record standards.
• Ensures that physician auto-populated deficiencies have been accurately assigned to optimize physician satisfaction.
• Performs follow-up procedures on coding work queues to ensure all records are coded in a timely manner.
• Analyzes scanned documents in the queue to ensure all information is scanned correctly and linked to the correct patient.
• Identifies physicians that meet suspension criteria according to policy and bylaws.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
