Job summary

UHIN is seeking a Health Data Analyst to turn healthcare information into actionable insights, focusing on data quality, reporting, and population health initiatives. This remote position in Utah supports chronic disease monitoring, quality measurement, and public health reporting with HIPAA/CMS compliance.

You will design and optimize SQL queries, build dashboards in Tableau/Power BI, perform statistical analyses, and collaborate with the Chief Data Officer to prepare clean datasets for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare/health informatics field or related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience extracting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on healthcare/public health data.
• Experience with healthcare claims and clinical datasets.
• Hands-on experience with public health surveillance, chronic disease reporting, and population health analytics.
• Strong SQL development for complex data extraction and aggregation.
• Proficiency with Python/R for data analysis and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Write advanced, optimized SQL queries to aggregate data from clinical systems and claims databases.
• Validate data integrity and perform quality assurance across health records and claims data.
• Coordinate with data contributors to resolve data quality issues.
• Design, develop, and maintain BI dashboards using Tableau and Power BI to track KPIs and public health metrics.
• Conduct statistical analysis to identify chronic disease trends and inform population health initiatives.
• Develop, validate, and maintain statistical algorithms and predictive models.
• Translate findings into clear recommendations for medical directors and executives.
• Author technical docs, process guides, and training materials.
• Maintain HIPAA and CMS compliance across data extraction, storage, and reporting.
