Job summary

The Aspen Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Learning Design & Innovation to lead the Instructional Design team and drive AI-enabled learning across TAG’s L&D organization. You will shape scalable learning solutions, partner with stakeholders, and translate strategy into actionable programs that improve outcomes.

You bring 7+ years in L&D, 3+ years of people leadership, and a track record of delivering innovative, evidence-based learning at scale using simulations, gamification, and rapid

Qualifications

• 7+ years in learning and development, instructional design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience leading, coaching, or directly managing learning professionals.
• Experience leading the design and development of medium- to large-scale learning initiatives from discovery through implementation.
• Experience applying adult learning principles and learner-centered design practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Develop the Instructional Design Team: provide direct leadership, coaching, performance management, and development for Instructional Designers.
• Oversee Learning Design Execution and Quality: guide design and development from discovery through implementation with standards for instructional effectiveness and accessibility.
• Translate Learning Design Strategy into Team Execution: partner with Director to translate strategy into priorities, standards, and practices.
• Lead AI-Enabled Learning Solutions and Efficiencies: identify and implement responsible uses of AI to improve learning design, development, and evaluation.
• Advance Innovative Learning Approaches: explore simulations, scenario-based learning, gamification, rapid development, interactive solutions.
• Lead Pilots and Proofs of Concept: design structured pilots with hypotheses, success measures, and evaluation plans.
• Scale Successful Innovations Across L&D: translate pilots into reusable tools and templates for adoption.
• Explore Emerging Authoring Approaches and Platform Capabilities: evaluate new authoring methods and provide recommendations.
• Build Learning Design Standards and Resources: develop reusable templates, standards, tools, and design systems.
• Measure Learning Design and Innovation Impact: use data and feedback to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvements.
• Partner Across L&D and the Business: align learning solutions with stakeholder needs and business goals.
• Serve as a Senior Learning Design Partner: advise on complex, high-visibility initiatives.
