Job summary

Datavant is seeking an HCC coder to review medical records and assign ICD-10 diagnoses per project guidelines, contributing to accurate risk adjustment and reimbursement. The role emphasizes precision, compliance with ICD-10-CM/DRG guidelines, and the ability to work in a remote environment.

You will maintain high coding quality, collaborate across teams, and support multiple client projects. AHIMA/AAPC credentials are preferred; 40 hours per week; hourly pay around $25–$26.70 USD.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years' HCC coding.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10.
• Ability to be flexible in the work environment.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, pharmacology, and disease processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high quality.
• Must follow instructions, meet deadlines and work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a remote environment, and time management skills.
• Working knowledge of computer hardware and software to ensure effectiveness and data security.
• Must commit to 40 hours weekly.
• Ability to work on multiple client projects.
• AHIMA/AAPC credentials required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC); CPC-As accepted with CRC.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and code diagnostic information in patient records per project guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, DRGs coding guidelines, third party policies, regulations, and accreditation guidelines.
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate.
• Perform any other task requested by management.
