Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience.
• 7+ years in software engineering, application development, systems engineering, or technical architecture.
• Experience translating requirements into implementable technical solutions and making architecture tradeoffs.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating applications, services, data sources, and external systems.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, automation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Ability to work directly with software developers through technical design, reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Experience addressing non-functional requirements including security, performance, reliability, and observability.
• Strong technical communication and collaborative leadership skills.
• Experience in Agile environments and SAFe ART.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead team-level solution design translating mission, product, functional, and non-functional requirements into implementable technical designs.
• Develop and maintain the team’s architectural runway and identify dependencies and constraints.
• Lead interface and integration design across applications, services, APIs, and data sources.
• Define and guide implementation of non-functional requirements (NFRs) including security, performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, observability, and testability.
• Establish and guide team technology standards and guardrails in alignment with Solution Architecture direction.
• Collaborate with product owners to identify, assess, and prioritize technical debt by impact and risk.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, system models, interface definitions, and ADRs.
• Work with developers through design sessions, reviews, troubleshooting, and mentoring.
• Coordinate with DevSecOps, testing, cybersecurity, PM, and other stakeholders to support secure CI/CD and deployment.
• Identify cross-team dependencies early and drive technical coordination to reduce risk.
• Remain engaged in implementation and problem solving, including root-cause analysis.
• Promote reusable solutions and reduce tribal knowledge.
