AmeriSave Mortgage is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers responsible for powering our Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Customer Experience platforms.

This is a player-coach role that combines architecture, design reviews, mentoring, and active coding contribution. You will coach engineers, partner with stakeholders, and drive delivery while shaping technical roadmaps and promoting a culture of quality and accountability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Strong hands-on coding background in Java, TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based applications.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, and scalable distributed systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience leading Agile development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers
• Drive agile development practices and delivery excellence
• Partner with Product, Operations, and business stakeholders to define priorities
• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions
• Contribute directly to software development when needed
• Ensure code quality, performance, security, and reliability standards are maintained
• Remove blockers and support team productivity
• Manage sprint planning, capacity planning, and technical roadmaps
• Conduct performance management, coaching, and career development
• Foster a collaborative and accountable engineering culture
• Support implementation of AI and automation-driven solutions
