Job summary

Loancrate Inc. is looking for an Engineering Manager to own a pod of 6–8 engineers, reporting to the Head of Engineering. You will shape people, delivery health, and the pod’s trajectory while partnering with a Technical Lead and Product Manager on what to build.

You are the accountable owner of team health and delivery, not the final technical decision-maker, in a company building AI-native mortgage workflows. You will be shaping a high-stakes, highly collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing engineers directly with measurable outcomes.
• Proven ability to ship and lead complex software projects.
• Fluency with AI product development concepts and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own pod health, priorities, ownership, and expectations.
• Own operating cadence: planning, retros, follow-through.
• Remove blockers and keep engineers on high-leverage work.
• Maintain high standards, autonomy, and psychological safety.
• Partner with Product Manager to land valuable work.
• Collaborate with Technical Lead on architecture and quality.
• Plan staffing and pod design, interview and close strong candidates.
• Communicate risks early and escalate with context.
