Job summary

AmeriSave Mortgage is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers responsible for building and maintaining applications powering our Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Customer Experience platforms.

This player-coach role requires active participation in architecture, design reviews, mentoring, and technical delivery. The ideal candidate coaches engineers, partners with stakeholders, and contributes to the codebase when needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Strong hands-on coding with Java, TypeScript, Node.js and SQL.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based applications.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, and scalable distributed systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience leading Agile development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers.
• Drive agile development practices and delivery excellence.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and business stakeholders to define priorities.
• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions.
• Contribute directly to software development when needed.
• Ensure code quality, performance, security, and reliability standards are maintained.
• Remove blockers and support team productivity.
• Manage sprint planning, capacity planning, and technical roadmaps.
• Conduct performance management, coaching, and career development.
• Foster a collaborative and accountable engineering culture.
• Support implementation of AI and automation-driven solutions.
