Job summary

Matrix New World Engineering, a part of True Environmental, seeks a Groundwater Modeler / Hydrogeologist to join our Phoenix team. This full-time role offers flexible in-office or remote work options and comprehensive benefits.

The successful candidate will build and calibrate groundwater flow models, support CSM development, and assist with regulatory permitting in Arizona. Responsibilities cover data management, reporting, and collaboration with Project Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Science or related field; Master's preferred.
• 3 years with Master's or 6 years with Bachelor's in groundwater modeling or related area.
• Hands-on proficiency with MODFLOW/MODPATH/MT3D; familiarity with Groundwater Vistas.
• Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS Pro) and post-processing tools (Fortran, Python, Grapher, Surfer).
• Experience with Arizona regulations and arid SW groundwater challenges is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, calibrate, and apply numerical groundwater flow and solute transport models.
• Perform sensitivity, uncertainty, and predictive analyses.
• Manage spatial/subsurface datasets for CSM development.
• Support regulatory permitting programs (ADEQ, AZPDES) and AWS analyses.
• Draft technical reports and support cost estimation and project tasks.
