Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Grid Integration Specialist to join its renewable energy team. This fully remote role focuses on seamless integration of renewables and distributed energy resources into the national grid, with emphasis on power systems engineering and grid stability.

You will analyze grid impacts, develop technical solutions, and collaborate with grid operators and project developers.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems.
8+ years of power systems experience focused on grid integration.
Deep understanding of grid stability, fault analysis, and power flow.
Experience with grid simulation software: PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP.
Familiarity with South African grid codes is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze the technical impact of renewable projects on the electricity grid.
Develop and recommend interconnection and stability solutions.
Collaborate with grid operators, utilities, and project developers to enable smooth integration.
Develop and review grid connection, stability, and short-circuit studies.
Stay informed on evolving grid codes and best practices for renewable integration.
Provide technical guidance on grid integration challenges and opportunities.
