Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in Grid Integration near Paarl. You will analyze, design, and implement grid interconnection solutions for renewable energy, collaborating with utility partners and project teams in a remote-friendly setup.

The role requires a strong background in power systems, experience with grid interconnection, and proficiency in power system analysis tools. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; master's in power systems preferred.
Minimum 4 years in power systems engineering with grid interconnection experience.
Experience with PSS/E, ETAP or PSCAD.
Strong understanding of renewable energy and grid integration.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform power flow, short circuit, and transient stability studies for grid connections.
Design electrical equipment and systems for renewable energy projects connecting to the grid.
Ensure compliance with grid codes and interconnection requirements.
Collaborate with grid operators, utilities, and stakeholders.
Develop and review technical documentation including single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and commissioning plans.
