Job summary
GE Vernova’s Energy Consulting team is seeking an engineer to join the Grid Code Compliance group and work with power producers, utilities, and developers to understand how generating facilities interact with the electrical grid. You will learn to analyze, test, and validate the performance of generating equipment and its controls, and convert complex results into practical customer guidance.
The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electric Power Engineering and 0–2
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electric Power Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electric Power Engineering is a plus.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in Engineering and/or Product Management in the Power Generation industry.
Responsibilities
- Support and execute engineering studies involving generator and governor performance, controls, and grid requirements.
- Develop, verify, and validate electrical load flow and dynamic models used to represent generating facilities.
- Support testing and data collection at power plants.
- Analyze test and simulation results to identify discrepancies and refine models.
- Develop engineering calculations, reports, presentations, and technical documents.
- Work with experienced engineers to troubleshoot technical problems and develop solutions.
