Job summary

Figma is seeking an experienced engineer for the Pixel Engine, focusing on media rendering and playback. You will work with cross-functional partners to ship new media features, optimize rendering performance, and support codecs and image/video pipelines within the rendering engine.

You will be part of a full-time role that can be based in a US hub or fully remote across the United States, with mentorship and growth opportunities as part of a collaborative design and engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience shipping software with a specialization on Video/Image rendering & playback.
• Experience with C++, TypeScript, or GLSL in real-world projects.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams to deliver complex technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing, User Research, and Data Science to build features and meet roadmap goals.
• Support new client-side Media features and improve rendering performance in the engine.
• End-to-end guidance for codecs and compression algorithms and related error handling.
• Mentor peers and contribute to org-wide onboarding and inclusion initiatives.
