Figma’s Pixel Engine team seeks engineers with domain expertise in media processing and playback to advance rendering and animation capabilities across the platform. This full-time role can be based in a US hub or remotely in the United States, collaborating with engineering, product, design, and data science.

You will mentor peers, contribute to onboarding, and drive standards to keep Figma at the bleeding edge of media tech. Career growth and strong mentorship are emphasized.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience shipping software with a specialization on Video/Image rendering & playback.
• Experience with C++, TypeScript, GLSL.
• Track record of collaborating across teams to deliver complex technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing, User Research, and Data Science to build new media features and meet roadmaps.
• Improve performance of image and video rendering within the Pixel Engine.
• End-to-end support of codecs and compression algorithms.
• Mentor peers and contribute to onboarding and process improvements.
• Drive rendering quality and stay at the forefront of new capabilities.
