Job summary

Georgetown University seeks a Proposal Specialist to provide pre-award support for faculty and postdoctoral fellows, focusing on budget development, form completion, and submission for federal and non-federal funding.

You will collaborate with researchers across clusters, ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional policies, and manage electronic submissions through Grants.gov and related portals in a fast-paced, research-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in a university or other non-profit grants management role.
• Knowledge of a variety of sponsored research funding mechanisms (federal and non-federal).
• Expertise with federal funding guidelines (2 CFR 200, FAR).
• Proficiency with financial systems, accounting, and cost accounting standards for grants/contracts.
• Budgeting experience in Excel.
• Experience with electronic grant submissions through Grants.gov and other portals.
• Proficiency with Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro and DocuSign.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-award support to faculty and postdoctoral fellows for proposal development, including budget development and form completion.
• Prepare and submit proposals for federal and non-federal funding mechanisms.
• Identify, organize, and facilitate submission of new, resubmission, and renewal proposals across clusters.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with researchers and offices to ensure complete and accurate proposals; manage electronic submissions via Grants.gov and other portals.
