Job summary

Vitalief is seeking an experienced Pre & Post-Award Clinical Research Grants Project Manager to support a major statewide clinical research initiative for a leading academic medical center in New Jersey.

The role acts as the central coordinator—aligning PI, client leadership, and cross-functional teams in Research, Finance, and Regulatory/IRB to ensure timely, accurate grant execution. This remote role includes travel to New Jersey as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in clinical research or grants administration.
• Experience with pre- and post-award grant activities.
• Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the grant project plan, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Coordinate pre-award proposal development across internal departments and external partners.
• Track deadlines, sponsor requirements, and project dependencies.
• Identify risks, gaps, issues, and potential delays.
• Coordinate meetings and communicate decisions across teams.
• Serve as liaison between PI, research administration, Finance, Contracts, and collaborators.
• Support post-award activities including budget management and closeout.
• Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements.
• Coordinate IRB and regulatory activities and maintain documentation.
• Provide regular status updates to leadership.
