Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking a Grants Management Consultant for remote, project-based work with public agencies and related organizations. There is no guaranteed assignment.

You will support grant-management assessments, policy updates, and post-award administration design, and review how agencies track applications, awards, drawdowns, reporting, and closeout. This role requires experience with post-award grants for public entities and the ability to write clear procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or advising post-award grants administration for a public agency or pass-through entity.
• Ability to write procedures a grants office can use.
• Comfortable as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with occasional client travel.

Responsibilities

• Support grant-management assessments, policy updates, and post-award administration design
• Review how an agency tracks applications, awards, drawdowns, reporting, and closeout
• Identify control gaps in allowability, matching, subrecipient monitoring, and documentation
• Draft procedures and roles the grants and finance staff can follow
• Advise on the system fields and reports an agency needs, without pretending to implement every system
• Distinguish federal, state, and local grant rules you have actually applied
