Job summary

AlphaGov, a public-sector consulting firm, seeks a Grants Management Consultant for remote, project-based work with public agencies. The role focuses on post-award administration, policy updates, and design of supporting procedures.

You will review agency grants processes, identify control gaps, and draft pragmatic procedures for grants and finance staff, with occasional client travel. Contingent on contract award.

Qualifications

• Experience managing post-award grants for a public agency or pass-through entity.
• Knowledge of allowability, matching, reporting, and subrecipient monitoring.
• Describe roles for at least two grant programs or agencies.
• Ability to draft procedures a grants office can follow.
• Available as a 1099 project-based collaborator with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grant-management assessments, policy updates, and post-award administration design.
• Review tracking of applications, awards, drawdowns, reporting, and closeout.
• Identify control gaps in allowability, matching, subrecipient monitoring, and documentation.
• Draft procedures and roles for grants and finance staff to follow.
• Advise on system fields and reports needed by agencies without committing to full implementation.
• Contribute grants qualifications and past-performance narrative to proposals only when authorized.
• Distinguish federal, state, and local grant rules you have applied.
