Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health seeks a Grants Accounting Analyst to support the financial administration of sponsored projects. You will handle post‑award accounting activities, including award setup, invoicing, AR, cash application, and closeout, while ensuring sponsor and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years progressive accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and applying standards to routine transactions and close activities.
• Knowledge of grant accounting principles and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced spreadsheet skills to analyze data and prepare schedules.
• Ability to prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, grant billings, and supporting documentation.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify variances and resolve issues.
• Effective communication with program teams, grant managers, auditors, and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Performs post‑award accounting activities throughout the lifecycle, including award setup, invoicing, AR management, cash application, and closeout.
• Supports month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Monitors billing, collections, and cash management; researches and resolves invoice issues.
• Prepares financial reports and supporting schedules for sponsors, management, audits, and related activities.
• Uses enterprise systems and reporting tools to maintain data integrity and respond to stakeholder inquiries.
• Assists with internal and external audits by providing schedules and documentation.
