Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University seeks a Grants Accounting Analyst to manage post‑award accounting for sponsored projects, ensuring accurate records and sponsor compliance. You will handle award setup, invoicing, AR, cash application, and closeout, while supporting month‑end processes and audit readiness.

The role partners with research administration and finance leadership to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and uphold strong financial stewardship of sponsored awards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/related field.
• 2–4 years progressive accounting experience.
• Practical knowledge of GAAP and routine close activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform post‑award accounting activities through the sponsored award lifecycle including setup, invoicing, AR, cash application, and closeout.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close.
• Monitor billing, collections, and cash management; resolve routine issues.
• Produce financial reports and schedules for sponsors, management, and audits.
• Support compliance with sponsor requirements, policies, and internal controls.
