Job summary

CFS is seeking a Grant Accountant for a fully remote role with no travel. You will manage state and federal grants, perform budgeting and financial reporting, and support the month-end close in a collaborative, remote nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred; finance degree considered with strong accounting experience.
• Grant accounting experience beyond accounts payable-focused responsibilities.
• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting activities for assigned state and federal grants.
• Review and approve grant-related expenditures and procurement activity.
• Grant accounting will perform budgeting, budget-to-actual analysis, and financial reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and posting issues.
