Job summary

SPS Commerce is seeking a Sr. Manager, Payroll to lead our global payroll function, supporting 2,800+ employees across 40+ states and 10+ countries. You will direct payroll systems, policies, and vendor relationships while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability as the company grows.

The role oversees a payroll team, drives process improvements, and partners with cross-functional leaders. Hybrid/remote options available, with a focus on strategic leadership and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, HR or related field.
• 8+ years of payroll experience including multi-state and international payroll.
• 4+ years of people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and SOX controls.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for global payroll processes, systems and policies.
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and SOX reporting.
• Lead and develop the payroll team; staff and succession planning.
• Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and audits.
• Partner with Finance, HR and Legal to align payroll strategy.
