Job summary
Qualus is seeking an experienced GIS & Utility Systems Integration Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the integration between GIS and OMS for electric utilities. You will focus on data readiness, network modeling, and cross-system alignment to support outage analysis and restoration workflows.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Esri Utility Network data models, electric network connectivity, and utility systems integration across OMS, ADMS, and related platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Engineering, CS, Geography, or related field
- 5+ years GIS experience in utility environments
- Hands-on Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and Utility Network configuration
- Experience with ArcFM for electric utility GIS solutions
- Experience modeling electric utility distribution networks
- Experience integrating GIS with OMS or other operational systems
- Strong understanding of network connectivity, topology, tracing, data modeling and integration
- Experience with Python, SQL, or scripting for data management and automation
- Experience with web services, APIs, and data exchange methods
- Esri Utility Network architecture and data governance expertise
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Technical documentation and communication skills
- Matrixed consulting environment experience
- Delivery vs advisory balance for projects
Responsibilities
- Maintain GIS data models supporting electric utility distribution systems and topology configurations
- Support migrations from legacy GIS to Utility Network
- Ensure GIS data supports OMS requirements including network tracing and outage prediction
- Maintain data quality, validation rules and topology integrity
- Assess GIS model readiness for OMS and ADMS integrations
- Define modeling standards for scalable integration
- Design GIS-OMS integration interfaces and data flows
- Support outage analysis, restoration workflows and system testing
- Coordinate with OMS vendors and internal teams on data requirements
- Provide technical documentation and model standards
- Support production deployments and operations
- Assist presales with GIS dependencies and stakeholder communication
- Explain complex topics to project managers and executives
