Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Engineering Technician II in the Distribution department to support electrical distribution design and regulatory compliance. You will work with project teams and use WMS, Pole Foreman, and AutoCAD to prepare and review project packages.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in utility distribution design and strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and regulators. Training opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package accompany this role.

Qualifications

• AA/AS Degree or 2 years of formal post-high school specialized trade (technical school/certifications) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required to qualify for an Engineer title; candidates without a bachelor's degree can be considered for a Technician-level role based on experience.
• 3-5+ years' experience in Utility Distribution design using Design Manager, Pole Foreman, AutoCAD, or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of electrical distribution system design engineering standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to apply client, industry, and regulatory standards and requirements to existing distribution system components.
• Supports the Engineering Manager by handling some of the project assignments and managing project performance and customer relationships for the distribution team.
• Problem identification and resolution.
• Utilize software such as Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, Design Manager, WMS, and/or AutoCAD in the preparation of project design packages.
• Review of completed designs and design products to ensure compliance with client, industry, and regulatory requirements.
• Review of design products to ensure compliance with quality and consistency expectations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal, client, and regulatory counterparts.
