Job summary

Leidos is seeking a GIS Technician to support electric distribution projects from a remote Raleigh area office. The role involves data maintenance, map updates, and field support with 5–10% travel to storm sites or local offices.

You will use Small World, Esri, and CAD tools alongside MS Office in an Agile team environment. The position starts through a staffing agency for six months, with potential conversion to a direct Leidos role.

Qualifications

• Requires 30 credit hours in GIS-related program OR a bachelor’s degree plus GIS certification OR high school diploma with 2 years GIS work experience.
• Knowledge of Client Standards preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Use GIS/CAD software to support electric distribution projects and data maintenance for higher complexity and priority projects.
• Reference as-builts, work management logs, and other documentation to update GIS data reflecting field construction.
• Identify data inconsistencies and coordinate updates with stakeholders for client systems.
• Obtain and manipulate GIS data at state and municipal levels.
• Work in an Agile team environment with collaboration and receptiveness to feedback.
