Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Engineering Technologist to work remotely on power delivery projects. The role emphasizes in-field data collection, GIS design suggestions, and collaboration with utility clients nationwide. You’ll use Esri ArcGIS and perform engineering calculations with potential overnight travel.

Ideal candidates have a BS or GIS-related credential and 1+ years of experience. The position offers training, career growth, and mentoring within a Fortune 500 environment.

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma or equivalent with <1 year of relevant experience, or BS in GIS/Engineering Technology or GIS certificate with 1+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of NESC Standards is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements.
• Work in-field 95% of the time on Joint USE/Fiber Make Ready Team.
• Perform engineering calculations for pole loading, sag, tension, voltage drop and flicker.
• Coordinate with permit agencies and right-of-way specialists.
