Job summary

O.R. Colan Associates, LLC is seeking a GIS Technician to support the Information Technology department from a home office in North Carolina or South Carolina. The role focuses on producing maps, maintaining parcel data, and ensuring data quality across GIS datasets, with travel to the Charlotte, NC headquarters 2–4 times per year.

Candidates should have proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, geodatabases, and MS Office. The position is full-time, exempt, and offers benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro).
• Working knowledge of geodatabases and GIS data management.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite — Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Produce maps, exhibits, and figures supporting right of way projects.
• Create and maintain parcel data, project layers, and geodatabase edits.
• Perform data entry, cleanup, and quality checks across GIS datasets.
• Respond to map and data requests from agents, project managers, and clients.
• Help maintain templates, symbology, and data standards.
• Perform general tasks that keep project mapping moving.
