Job summary

Leidos is seeking a GIS Tech to support electric distribution projects in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area (within 50 miles of the Durham office) with a work-from-home arrangement and 5-10% travel for storm support.

The role requires GIS/CAD software experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to collaborate in an Agile team. Initial employment is through a temporary agency for six months before potential conversion to Leidos.

Qualifications

• 30 credit hours in GIS-related program or BS + GIS certification, or HS diploma with GIS experience.
• Knowledge of client standards preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Willingness for field and office work; overnight travel 10-20%.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Interface with local clients.
• Interact with Substation, Protection & Controls, and Civil/Structural teams.
• Partner with utility clients nationwide.
• Use GIS/CAD software to support electric distribution projects and data maintenance.
• Reference as-builts and logs to update GIS data.
