Job summary

Leidos is seeking a GIS Tech in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. This role is work-from-home with 5-10% travel for storm support and occasional office visits; 6 months with a temp agency before potential conversion to a direct Leidos employee.

You will support electric distribution projects using GIS/CAD, update data from as-builts, and collaborate in an Agile team to deliver high-quality results for clients nationwide.

Qualifications

• Requires 30 credit hours in GIS-related program, OR a bachelor's degree plus GIS certification, OR high school diploma plus 2 years GIS experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Willingness to perform field and office work with overnight travel 10-20%
• Ability to work in outdoor environments
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Use GIS/CAD software to support electric distribution projects and data maintenance for higher complexity and priority projects.
• Reference as-builts, work management logs, and other documentation to update GIS data to reflect electric distribution construction in the field.
• Identify data inconsistencies and communicate with the appropriate resources to provide accurate data updates to client systems.
• Obtain and manipulate GIS data at state and municipality level.
• Ability to work in an Agile team environment where collaboration and receptiveness to feedback are essential to producing high quality work.
