Job summary

Leidos is seeking a GIS Tech for the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area (within 50 miles of the Durham office). The role is work-from-home with 5–10% travel for storm support and occasional visits to the office.

The selected candidate will work through a temp agency for 6 months before potential conversion to a direct Leidos employee. The successful candidate will support GIS/CAD tasks for electric distribution projects, reference as-builts and logs, and ensure GIS data reflects field construction.

Qualifications

• 30 credit hours GIS program, or BS + GIS cert enrollment, or HS diploma + 2 years GIS experience.
• Client standards knowledge is preferred.
• Excellent communications in written and spoken English.
• Willingness to perform field and office work with occasional overnight travel (10-20%).
• Ability to work in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Use GIS/CAD software to support electric distribution projects and data maintenance.
• Reference as-builts, work management logs, & other documentation to update GIS data to reflect field construction.
• Identify data inconsistencies and coordinate updates with clients.
• Obtain and manipulate GIS data at state and municipality level.
• Work in an Agile team environment with cross-functional collaboration.
