Job summary

Leidos is seeking a GIS Tech to support electric distribution projects from the Raleigh/Durham area. This role blends field and office work with a strong emphasis on GIS data maintenance, quality control, and cross-functional collaboration in an Agile setting.

Candidates should have GIS coursework or a degree and experience with ESRI, Small World, QGIS, and CAD tools. 10-20% travel may be required to support field activities.

Qualifications

• Requires GIS coursework or GIS degree and/or work experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and GIS software suites expected.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Use GIS/CAD software to support electric distribution projects.
• Reference as-builts and logs to update GIS data.
• Identify data inconsistencies and coordinate data updates.
• Obtain and manipulate GIS data at state/municipal level.
• Collaborate in an Agile team environment.

Education

30 credit hours GIS-related program

Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field

High school diploma + 2 years GIS experience
