Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist I to support the GIS team with data coordination, mapping, and data quality control. The role requires knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ESRI geodatabase formats, plus an Associate's degree and 1–3 years' experience in a similar position.

The position is remote, home-based within the US, with a hybrid/remote-friendly setup and opportunities for professional growth and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of prior work experience in a similar GIS role.
• Familiarity with Electric Utility infrastructure terminology is a plus.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ability to perform edits to mapping system.
• Knowledge of ArcCatalog and ESRI geodatabase formats.
• Proficiency in standard business software (Word, Excel, Windows).
• Valid Driver’s License and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, prepare, and process GIS information for Chesapeake Utilities.
• Edit and create GIS maps and data, ensuring quality control.
• Integrate asset management programs with GIS systems.
• Maintain metadata and ensure archived digital media and source materials.
• Assist with annual DOT/PHMSA reporting and related duties.
