Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist I to coordinate GIS data creation, editing, and maintenance for digital utility infrastructure. The role requires familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise and ESRI geodatabases, plus a valid driver’s license and strong communication skills.

The position is remote with hybrid elements and offers a path for growth in geospatial services across service territories.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of GIS-related work experience.
• Familiar with Electric Utility infrastructure terminology.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ability to perform edits and updates to mapping system as required.
• Knowledge of ArcCatalog and ESRI geodatabase format.
• Proficient in standard business software (Word, Excel, Windows).
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsabilités

• Perform creation, conversion, translation, migration, and import of GIS data from various sources.
• Edit, quality control, data manipulation and analysis of digital map data.
• Integrate other asset management programs into the GIS.
• Develop QA procedures and standards.
• Archive and store digital media and source materials.
• Maintain metadata files and related data products.
• Communicate production concerns to supervisor.
• Update and correct digital base map data for geospatial applications.
• Apply advanced GIS principles in all tasks.
• Support DOT/PHMSA reporting preparation.
