Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist I to support the GIS for our service territories. You will coordinate, prepare, and process GIS data, perform mapping tasks, and integrate asset management programs into GIS workflows from a remote setting.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in GIS or a closely related role.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise and ability to edit/update mapping systems.
• Familiarity with drafting, surveying, construction, and electronic mapping materials/equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
• Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
• Must follow safety rules, regulations, procedures, policies and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, prepare, and process information for the GIS system.
• Assist with GIS mapping functions, including production and editing of digital utility infrastructure data and GIS layers.
• Perform data creation, conversion, translation, migration, and import for GIS projects.
• Edit, QC, manipulate, and analyze digital map data.
• Integrate other asset management programs into the GIS.
• Develop QA procedures, standards, and protocols.
• Archive and store digital media and source materials.
• Gather, create, and maintain metadata files.
• Communicate production concerns to the supervisor.
• Process, update, and correct digital base map data for geospatial applications.
• Apply advanced GIS/cartographic principles in all efforts.
• Adhere to QC protocols.
