Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Gift Planning Officer to support the Tennessee and Mississippi/Alabama Regions. This remote role focuses on new gift commitments, donor cultivation, and program design within a major national charity.

The candidate will report to the Director of Gift Planning, develop strategies to maximize fundraising capacity, and coordinate with local financial planning groups while traveling 20–30% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required; advanced degree preferred.
• Five+ years in major gift or gift planning fundraising with cultivation and solicitation experience.
• Knowledge of planned giving vehicles and fundraising principles in large organizations.
• Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and implement gift planning program for TN and MS/AL regions.
• Cultivate donors, solicit gifts, and steward relationships to increase funding capacity.
• Lead strategies to grow the Legacy Society membership and manage stewardship.
• Provide training and collaborate with regional development teams on gift planning.
