Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Gift Planning Officer for the Tennessee and Mississippi/Alabama Regions. This remote role focuses on developing and executing gift planning strategies, growing the Legacy Society, and partnering with regional teams to maximize bequests, trusts, and life-income arrangements.

You will work with multiple stakeholders, maintain knowledge of planned giving vehicles, and travel 20–30% as needed while supporting fundraising efforts across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Five years in major gift or gift planning fundraising with cultivation and soliciting experience preferred.
• Experience promoting and managing gift planning programs desirable.
• Knowledge of planned giving vehicles and fundraising principles in a large organization desired.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Microsoft Office proficiency is necessary.
• 20%–30% travel; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develops, designs, and implements the gift planning program within the Tennessee and MS/AL Regions.
• Grow the Legacy Society membership and steward gift-planning donors.
• Provide training on gift planning to development teams and foster opportunities in gift conversations.
