Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Geospatial Analyst II to work in Tampa, FL or Fairfax, VA with optional remote consideration based on experience. You will handle lidar data processing, classification, and QA/QC across state and federal projects, using ESRI GIS tools and scripting to automate workflows.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in GIS/Remote Sensing, strong ArcGIS knowledge, and experience with elevation data, GNSS, and data QA.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field.
3+ years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in elevation data processing and elevation model creation/manipulation, hydrography, or other remote sensing processing, development, and QA/QC.
An understanding of GIS, elevation data, lidar, and concepts including a strong knowledge of various raster and vector data types, coordinate systems, projections, and datums.
In-depth knowledge of ESRI’s products including ArcGIS 10x, ArcPro, and experience with GDBs.
Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight schedules as required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Working with the initial processing and data classification of multiple topographic and/or bathymetric lidar projects.
Creating Scripts/Models/Macros in multiple sensor platforms.
Perform initial classification of point clouds, including initial grounding, building routines, vegetation classification, and other point cloud filtering.
Performing relative and absolute adjustments to lidar data (calibration/alignment/registration).
Perform QAQC on initially processed data to ensure it meets rigorous accuracy and qualitative requirements.
Create a variety of digital mapping/remotely sensed products using various software platforms;
Work with the Product Line Lead to assist in the execution of projects, on time and within budget.
Perform work that appropriately follows all quality control steps and practices are implemented throughout processes to ensure deliverables meet client specifications.
Support improvements to automation of the production and QC process.
