Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated is seeking a Lidar Calibration Analyst to work from our Tampa, FL or Fairfax, VA offices with possible remote consideration based on experience. The role involves processing and calibrating Lidar data, QA/QC, and producing mapping products across the US.

The ideal candidate has a Geography/GIS background with 2+ years in GIS/Remote Sensing, experience in Lidar data handling, and proficiency with ESRI software. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field required.
2+ years of experience in GIS/Remote Sensing field.
Experience in Lidar data extraction and/or swath alignment.
Experience in Lidar processing and elevation model creation/manipulation.
In-depth knowledge of ESRI software.
Terrascan experience desirable.
PLTS toolkit experience a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Quality checks on data post acquisition.
Airborne/mobile trajectory processing.
Processing and extraction of Lidar data from raw formats.
Performing relative and absolute adjustments to Lidar data (calibration/alignment/registration).
QA/QC on processed data to meet accuracy requirements.
Document QA/QC findings and communicate results to project managers.
Create and manipulate databases and various digital mapping/remotely sensed products.
Elevation data processing and manipulation.
Problem solving and teamwork.
