Job summary

Dewberry in Tampa, FL seeks an entry level Remote Sensing Operator to join our geospatial team. You will collect airborne lidar and imagery data and assist field operations on projects for federal and state clients.

You will work with pilots to evaluate conditions, troubleshoot sensors, and ensure data quality. Strong communication, self-motivation, and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Entry-level geospatial/ lidar experience required or strong internship exposure.
• Must understand aviation, GIS, remote sensing, or GPS survey methods.
• Ability to travel up to 8 weeks at a time and work under varying schedules.

Responsibilities

• Collect airborne lidar and imagery data from fixed-wing aircraft.
• Coordinate with pilots to assess weather and environmental conditions during data acquisition.
• Operate and troubleshoot sensors both in field and in office environments.
• Maintain field logs and reporting for data quality and traceability.
• Assist in sensor installation and equipment coordination.
• Perform data processing handoffs to processing teams and ensure data integrity.
