Job summary
Dewberry is seeking a Geospatial Analyst III in Fairfax, VA or Tampa, FL. The role focuses on GIS/remote sensing and automated/manual processing of LiDAR-derived data.
Candidates will work on projects for US state and federal clients, with emphasis on topographic and bathymetric datasets. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Geography or GIS and 3+ years in GIS/Remote Sensing, plus experience with LiDAR processing, ArcGIS, Terrasolid, and MicroStation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in GIS/Remote Sensing with focus on point cloud classification.
- Experience in LiDAR processing and elevation model creation/manipulation.
- Strong knowledge of raster and vector data types, coordinate systems, projections, and datums.
- Understanding of LiDAR production workflow and deliverable creation.
- Ability to analyze point clouds and geospatial data layers.
- Working with Terrasolid and MicroStation.
Responsibilities
- Work on GIS/IT and remote sensing projects for state and federal clients across the US.
- Perform automated and manual processing of point cloud data.
- Create scripts/models/macros in multiple sensor platforms.
- Assist Product Line Lead to execute projects on time and within budget.
- Plan and monitor production data and ensure data management protocols are met.
- Ensure quality control steps are followed for deliverables.
- Support SOP updates and process improvements.
- Collaborate with production staff and other teams to improve efficiency.
