Job summary

AES is seeking a Geologist II/III/Sr for remote work within the United States. The role involves active field assignments for contaminated site characterization, monitoring, and remediation, plus office duties like planning and reporting.

Travel to field sites will be periodic, with a strong emphasis on advancing in geological investigations. The position requires experience with contaminated sites and offers levels II to Senior with salary ranges and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or geological sciences
• US Citizenship required
• Ability to pass background checks by Federal Agencies
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint Online
• Adept at explaining technical aspects of fieldwork verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

• Conduct contaminated site characterization, monitoring, and remediation field assessments per work plans
• Travel to sites by aircraft, vehicles, ATVs, or watercraft for fieldwork and meetings
• Field screening and sampling for contaminants in various media per SOPs
• Oversee installation and development of borings and monitoring/extraction wells
• Classify soils using USCS and interpret geophysical logs
• Document field operations and communicate with project managers
• Ensure safety and compliance with project specifications
• Schedule and oversee subcontractors
• Assist or lead proposals, planning documents, and reports
• Author and review technical documents such as work plans and reports
