Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Geologist to join an exploration team. The role focuses on interpreting geological data, identifying hydrocarbon prospects, and guiding exploration initiatives remotely with cross-boundary collaboration.

The candidate will work with subsurface teams, utilizing advanced modeling software and contribute to significant industry discoveries. Strong data interpretation and remote communication skills are required to succeed in a global oil and gas

Qualifications

Master's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences with a petroleum geology focus.
7+ years of progressive exploration geology experience in oil and gas.
Proficiency in geological modeling software (Petrel, Kingdom Suite) and GIS tools.
Solid understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
Excellent analytical, critical thinking and remote communication skills.

Responsibilities

Interpret seismic, well log, and core data to build and refine geological models.
Identify and evaluate oil and gas prospects and plays.
Perform risk assessments and uncertainty analyses for exploration targets.
Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers on integrated subsurface studies.
Contribute to exploration strategies and portfolio management.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and maps for stakeholders.
