Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a full-time remote General Surgery Medical Coder to provide coding and abstracting services for outpatient, physician, and emergency room records using ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT coding systems while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining productivity standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing records to identify diagnoses and procedures, ensuring accurate DRG assignment, abstracting information per client guidelines, and staying current through team

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience coding General Surgery procedures (including Profee and Facility charts).
• At least 2 years of experience coding Ophthalmology and Multi-Specialty charts.
• Active coding credentials such as CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPS, CPT coding principles and applicable regulations.
• Proficiency in coding software/tools; Epic/3M experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures and select principal diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding.
• Ensure appropriate DRG assignment and abstract information from records per client guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings and training and contribute to coding education initiatives.
