Job summary

Pennwood Cyber Charter School seeks Pennsylvania-certified educators to deliver high-quality virtual instruction to K-12 students. Working from home in Pennsylvania, teachers use the LMS, phone, internet, and curriculum tools to manage instructional programming.

Teachers communicate with students and Learning Coaches, monitor progress, provide timely feedback, maintain records, and adapt instruction to strengthen understanding and engagement.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania instructional certification appropriate for the assigned grade level and subject area.
• Pennsylvania residency.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated student-centered approach, flexibility, agility, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, technology-driven environment.
• Ability to travel for state testing, school events, and outreach activities, including possible overnight travel.
• Ability to work occasional evening hours, as needed to support students and families.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, learning management systems, and related technology.

Responsibilities

• Deliver asynchronous and synchronous instruction in whole-group, small-group, and individual settings.
• Complete grading, lesson preparation, and student and family communications within established timelines.
• Maintain a general knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned courses, grades, and subject areas.
• Review curriculum and use alternate instructional approaches to increase student understanding and engagement.
• Support students and Learning Coaches with learning strategies, daily assignments, projects, and course expectations.
• Support implementation of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications for students enrolled in assigned courses.
• Communicate regularly with students and Learning Coaches through the LMS, telephone, and other approved tools.
• Maintain accurate and current student records and data, including cumulative files and attendance.
• Collaborate with Engagement and Counseling Departments to support timely communication, adequate progress, and goals.
