Job summary

Topstep is seeking a GL Accountant to support monthly close across lease accounting, expense reports, bank postings, and reconciliations. Reporting to the GL Manager, you will maintain schedules, prepare journal entries, and ensure accuracy and timeliness.

You will leverage NetSuite and Emburse, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and help develop SOPs while upholding internal controls. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional seeking growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Experience with Emburse and NetSuite/ERP.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Lease Accounting: maintain lease schedules and prepare monthly journal entries per ASC 842.
• Expense Reports & Corporate Cards: process and review employee expenses and reconcile cards.
• Bank Transaction Uploads: daily/monthly uploads and accurate coding.
• Close & Reconciliations: prepare reconciliations and ensure close calendar compliance.
• Audit & Compliance: prepare audit schedules and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Process Improvement & Systems: identify efficiency improvements and leverage NetSuite.
