Job summary

Topstep is seeking a Senior GL Accountant to own accruals, AP aging, Deel contractor payments, fixed assets, and AFS securities, while playing a hands-on role in the monthly close. You will supervise a GL Accountant and support audit readiness with cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong accounting judgment, and the ability to work independently across multiple areas while contributing to a growing finance team. A CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience with month-end close.
• Experience with accrual accounting, AP/vendor accounting, and fixed asset accounting.
• Ability to work independently across multiple owned areas.
• CPA or active pursuit of CPA preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
• Experience with Deel or similar contractor payments.
• Familiarity with fixed asset/capitalized software accounting (ASC 350-40).

Responsibilities

• Own accruals and monthly journal entries across vendors/areas.
• Reconcile accruals and current liability accounts monthly.
• Own the monthly AP aging review and resolve items.
• Manage Deel contractor payments and related accruals.
• Own fixed asset process for capitalized software and CIP.
• Prepare audit support schedules and respond to requests.
• Directly supervise the GL Accountant and review work for accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency with NetSuite.
