Job summary

Topstep seeks a GL Manager to lead a small team and own payroll accounting, AP oversight, and monthly flux analysis. You will review work of Senior GL Accountants, drive accuracy, and ensure audit-readiness across close processes.

The role requires 6–8+ years of accounting experience, NetSuite proficiency, and strong Excel skills. Hybrid work is supported; base salary ranges from $140,000 to $160,000 with bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Hands-on accounting experience with payroll, AP, and expense classification (COGS vs. SG&A).
• Experience supervising staff and providing feedback.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the GL team (2 Senior GL Accountants, an AP Specialist, and GL Accountants).
• Own payroll-related journal entries and payroll reconciliations.
• Oversee AP coding, vendor onboarding, and payout activity; ensure accurate aging and reconciliations.
• Perform monthly flux/variance analysis including COGS vs. SG&A classification.
